Kendall Jenner x TRIP, HYROX nearing $697M, and NYC brand events

3 notes on BFCM this year:

1. BFCM is competitive and it's starting earlier than ever.

right now is the cheapest ad traffic that you're going to be getting through the rest of the year, straight up. everything just gets so expensive. to help with this, think of unique offers, different ways to stand out and be unique. then drive that traffic to your different sales funnels during Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

2. some brands prep all year for this.

because of this, I'd get your inventory in place and start spending + testing different funnels, landing pages, offers, etc. at the end of the day I would just double down on your best offer that's worked up to this point for Black Friday and Cyber Monday because you know it works. obviously this is something that should have been done months ago in preparation for this but make sure you have the inventory in place.

3. right now, OuterSignal is doing some really cool things on the customer data side.

Black Friday, Saturday, and Cyber Monday, you're getting lot of new customers. having the right data behind those customers is key for the longevity of that relationship and the LTV of your customers. even if your CAC is a little bit higher, I think investing in the data and using a tool like OuterSignal to be able to understand who that customer is and then remarket to them down the funnel is going to be super important for DTC operators.

[ BFCM Operators Playbook ]

Black Friday and Cyber Monday can make or break your entire quarter.

And most BFCM content is either too broad, too theoretical, or written by people who aren’t actually in the room making the decisions.

So we built something different.

We put together the 1800DTC BFCM Operators Playbook.

13 chapters and 20+ pages of actionable insights covering the decisions founders, operators, and marketers need to make before, during, and after the biggest shopping weekend of the year.

Whether you’re refining your strategy or pressure-testing the plan already in place, there’s something here your team can use.

[ founder highlight ]

@mister.olio sold 50% of his first production run to local retailers before the It’s Olio website was even live.

In 2022, Alec Randall put a simple twist on Olive Oil.

Then the DTC side got built in 2023.

Now he’s in over 200+ stores.

HYROX leaning towards $697M in value

The health and fitness space is moving fast and HYROX is at the forefront. This industry can tell us a lot about what consumers are gravitating towards, as all things health and fitness hit close to home.

Love to see the growth from these guys.

Great drop and insights from Drew on this one.

Kendall Jenner Joins TRIP

TRIP is a sparkling drink filled with magnesium and plant-based botanicals, helping you feel calm and relaxed (I think we all need one of these as we get ready for BFCM…)

As they’re nearing $200M in sales, Kendall Jenner joins as one of their Global Ambassadors.

And quick note to add to the customer data convo, check out TRIPS pop-up on their site. Great way to capture data from your customers on sign-up.

UGLY TALK: HOW BREAKOUT ECOMMERCE BRANDS SELL OUT DURING BFCM (NYC)

On September 15, Jay Wright is joining Ugly Talk to cover how ecomm brands sell out over BFCM. Here’s what else they’re hitting during the workshop:

  • What winning brands fix before BFCM, from offer structure to the customer path
  • Why decent holiday plans still miss, and where revenue usually leaks
  • How founders should think about bundles, urgency, timing, funnels, and buyer behavior
  • What conversion mistakes show up every holiday season, especially when traffic gets expensive
  • What smaller brands should stop copying from bigger brands, and what to do instead

Really good one to be in on.
