Salomon is a French outdoor sports brand founded in 1947 by François Salomon in Annecy, at the foot of the French Alps, beginning with a small metalworking shop that produced ski edges. Over the following decades, the brand pioneered some of the most significant innovations in winter sports — from revolutionary ski bindings to the SNS Nordic system — before expanding into trail running, hiking, snowboarding, and its now-iconic SportStyle footwear. Today a subsidiary of Amer Sports, Salomon operates in 91 countries, leads the global trail running and winter sports market, and has gained cult status in streetwear and gorpcore fashion through silhouettes like the XT-6.
